How do Dr. Brown's Anti-Colic Bottles Work?

Dr. Brown's redefined bottle feeding by creating an internal venting system that prevents air from coming in contact with the liquid. This helps prevent colic, spit-up, burping and gas reducing or eliminating feeding problems for your baby, and stress and anxiety for you. But that’s not all. The internal vent system helps with a whole lot more:

• Preserves Nutrients
  Because the internal vent system eliminates air bubbles in breastmilk and formula, it reduces the amount of impact air has on the contents. Oxygen can be destructive to the vitamins and nutrients in milk, causing it to lose nutritional value. The more air that mixes with the milk, the faster the vitamins will degrade.

  Since Dr. Brown’s vent system channels air away from the milk, nutrients like vitamins C, A, & E are better preserved – so more goes to your little one with each feeding. Every drop of breastmilk or formula is so important, and with Dr. Brown’s bottles, every drop counts.

• Offers a Feeding Experience Similar to Breastfeeding
  We talked a little bit before about how Dr. Brown’s bottles eliminate negative pressure. Because of this, liquid can slowly but steadily flow from the teats when you turn the bottle over; add in the sucking motion of a feeding baby, and it opens the flow much like breastfeeding.

  That means baby has to work to get milk, but not hard enough to cause feeding issues or ear infections – also much like breastfeeding. Since they are familiar with feeding in this same way while breastfeeding, using a Dr. Brown’s bottle every now and then doesn’t much change the experience between the two.
